2010 World Cup South Africa
This special issue of Arkitip Magazine celebrates the world’s greatest sporting spectacle—the FIFA World Cup—seen through the eyes of New York City’s own Chinatown Soccer Club with support from official FIFA sponsor adidas.

Founded in 2002, the Chinatown Soccer Club is a crew of artists, photographers, designers, writers, skateboarders and like-minded creative individuals. This diverse collective, united by a passion for this beautiful game, converges on New York City’s Chinatown year-round in all weather and seasons for friendly morning matches before heading to work.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup will be the 19th FIFA World Cup, the premier international football tournament. It is scheduled to take place between 11 June and 11 July 2010 in South Africa. The World Cup is the most widely-viewed sporting event in the world, where an estimated 715.1 million people watched the final match of the 2006 World Cup held in Germany. Italy’s team are defending champions.

FRANK 151 TEAMS UP WITH THE SEVENTH LETTER

by GuerillaOne on Jun.16, 2010, under AGENDA, ART, COLLABS, EDDIE DONALDSON, FOREVERPURE, FRANK 151, GANG RELATED, GRAFFITI, KNOWNGALLERY.COM, MARKMASKY, STREET ART, STREETWEAR, THE SEVENTH LETTER

temp-image_1_7
The Seventh Letter was founded in 2000 by the rumored leader of the infamous West Coast graffiti crews AWR MSK to act as a platform for crew members to showcase their work in the form of fine-art exhibitions, apparel, and other special projects.

The Seventh Letter is an army of artistic individuals with roots not just in graffiti, but also in fine art, tattoo, graphic design, sculpture, photography, and music. Based in Los Angeles, The Seventh Letter’s tentacles have spread around the world to cities including San Francisco, Atlanta, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, Jersey City, London, Paris, Milan, Naples, Budapest, Tokyo, Cologne, Seoul, and Bangkok.

If you live in a major metropolitan area, you’ve probably seen The Seventh Letter’s work – boldly rolled in white paint across a New York City wall, carefully worked onto a movie billboard in Australia, touring France on the side of a commuter train, or featured in a Los Angeles Gallery. Frank Book Chapter 41: The Seventh Letter features the world’s most notorious art collective, showcasing not only the crew’s art, but also the individual members’ interests and personal archives.

REVOK: “My name is REVOK, I’m from here in Los Angeles. I was born in the Riverside area and stayed out there till I was about 17. From there I started bouncing around all over the country. I’ve been back here since 2001 with no plans of ever leaving, if I can help it.”

If you ever strike oil or become a legend by teaching the world to smoke weed, get a car, get on the Gumball, and hope for one percent of the action Muggs and Estevan saw on their trip.

FATE: If you believe that bad decisions make for the best stories, then FATE’s exploits could fill libraries. Undeniably captivating and far from soft-spoken, we were fortunate enough to sit down with the frenetic folk hero over a few beers and discuss some of his more memorable contributions to mankind, as well as the role that San Francisco played in shaping the AWR and MSK crews.

SEVER: Sean Severinson, AKA SEVER, is an internationally renowned author and artist whose exhaustive body of work has inspired community-service crews and fine-art enthusiasts alike.

EMINEM + TRAVS BRKR + THE ALCHEMIST

Last night I took advantage of the rare opportunity to see live music and drink for free all thanks to the people at the staples center and Activision. The only bummer of the event was the absence of Tony Hawk shreding on a wire dropped ramp, he just hit a five footer and pumped a Tony Hawk Shread game. It was kind of cool being drunk off free staples center beer on the court, listening to eminem and knowing in this very spot, Kobe will beat the Celtics here tomorrow.

Anyway, saw a dope sequence of Black ops with fire works and the whole deal, game is gonna be a must have!

As usual, none of the sick architecture goes down in America, the progressive/innovative work always takes place in some obscure location with loose building codes and laws.

“The ‘everrich 2′ apartments by vietnamese dwp architects is a housing complex which
measures 630,000 square meters, and reaches a height of 37 storeys. in total,
there are 3,100 apartment units ranging from 120 to 250 square meters each,
with two floors of mixed retail and public space on the ground level. the project aims to be
a self-sustaining community in district 7, ho chi minh city, and construction has already
begun with approval from local authorities.”
