Street Art Cookbook is a complete guide to the materials and techniques used within today’s most creative and progressive art movement. Victor Reyes is a San Francisco based artist known for his graffiti and fine art. His artwork lives in the streets and in galleries which has earned him an international acclaim with a diverse audience. This is his first serigraph with Paperworks Laboratories and he pulled out all the stops. Each layer of this screen print was hand separated which means this entire edition has been completely hand done. No computers used and looks as close to a painting as possible. This will be released Friday, June 11th at 12 PM PST.

Artist Patrick Martinez,  connects the dots with the major league baseball team the “Arizona Diamondbacks” and the new immigration law in Arizona to create a subtle but yet hard hitting visual. Martinez teamed up with Quintin to produce three limited hats that work as art pieces and will be shown in a gallery context.

“I created the hat pieces to visually show the connection between the racist republicans that run the “Arizona Diamondbacks”(a major league baseball team) and how they are helping to push the Arizona SB1070 law by generous funding. I re-named the team with the racist inspired name Arizona Wetbacks because I believe it’s more of a fit based on the racist actions the owners are taking with the SB1070 bill which they are helping to advance.I created three hats for the three players on the diamondbacks of latin decent  (Juan Guitterez, Gerardo Parra, and Rodrigo Lopez) that will be celebrated on the field then asked for their papers when they leave it.”

“This bill is a step backwards in terms of progression. It is also a giant slap in the face to the many people that fought for equal rights in the past as well as the present. The SB1070 law has the feeling of the beginning stages of apartheid.This bill should be stopped. Arizona is down with the brown, fo-real.”

Last night I took advantage of the rare opportunity to see live music and drink for free all thanks to the people at the staples center and Activision. The only bummer of the event was the absence of Tony Hawk shreding on a wire dropped ramp, he just hit a five footer and pumped a Tony Hawk Shread game. It was kind of cool being drunk off free staples center beer on the court, listening to eminem and knowing in this very spot, Kobe will beat the Celtics here tomorrow.

Anyway, saw a dope sequence of Black ops with fire works and the whole deal, game is gonna be a must have!

As usual, none of the sick architecture goes down in America, the progressive/innovative work always takes place in some obscure location with loose building codes and laws.
