I know you are accustomed to me providing you with legit Graffiti and in some way, this is no exception. This week GhosBusters was released out of Atari and it seemed like a no brainer to come up on this game. During the first level, I had to chase the state puff guy and I noticed a bit of graffiti to set an “urban” atmosphere. Check it out!

REST IN PEACE DAVID CARRADINE
by CHRIS GROSSO on Jun.04, 2009, under Chris Grosso, REST IN PEACE

Actor David Carradine was found dead in a Bangkok. You may remember him as Kwai Chang Caine, from the TV program Kung Fu or as Bill in the classic movie Kill Bill 1&2. Find your peace my man.
This is how I want to remember him, just a bad ass dude that loved Martial arts and western wear.

SICKER THAN YOUR AVERAGE… BIGGIE + BARRON + SSUR

These T- Shirts are a must have.
New York City, NY (December 10, 2008) – SSUR is proud to announce the release of the Notorious BIG collaboration tee. The King of Brooklyn 3 style tee release, which is scheduled to drop early January of 2009, will be sold exclusively at SSURPLUS in NYC, online at www.ssurempirestate.com and selected boutiques around the world.
Widely acclaimed photographer Barron Claiborne’s portrait of B.I.G. (taken ?ve days prior to the tragic death) would become the last and most notorious image of the legendary rapper (as well as the most bootlegged hip hop photograph ever taken). Barron, a long time friend and patron of SSUR, collaborated on a triptych of tees celebrating the famed image, presenting a true depiction of this widely misused portrait in all media (and formats).

THIS DAY IN HISTORY – AUGUST 1, 1981 – MTV PLAYS FIRST MUSIC VIDEO
by GuerillaOne on Aug.01, 2008, under MUSIC, REST IN PEACE, VIDEO
ON THIS DAY 27 YEARS AGO MTV AIRED THE FIRST MUSIC VIDEO ON TELEVISION. THIS VIDEO, AS MANY PEOPLE KNOW, WAS “VIDEO KILLED THE RADIO STAR” BY THE BUGGLES.
MTV, ONCE HELD AS A LEADER IN MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT, HAS TAKEN THE PATH OF MANY ROCKSTARS BEFORE IT, AND CHANGED THEIR STYLE TO A LEVEL SO UNENJOYABLE THAT EVEN DIE HARD FANS CANNOT BARE TO WATCH ONE MORE MINUTE.
BELOW IS TODAY’S MTV PROGRAMMING FOR THEIR 27TH BIRTHDAY. WOW.
NO CHANCE OF CALLING IT QUITS AND SECURING ANY KIND OF RESPECT LIKE THAT OF JIMI HENDRIX, JANIS JOPLIN, BRIAN JONES, JIM MORRISON OR KURT KOBAIN DID AT 27. I SUPPOSE THERE ARE 364 DAYS TO TURN IT AROUND, AND PULL THE PLUG. (FINGERS CROSSED) HERE’S HOPING.

NOT SURE IF THIS DRINK HAS BEEN ELIMINATED ALTOGETHER, BUT IT WILL CERTAINLY NOT BE AVAILABLE AT THE MULTIPLE STARBUCKS LOCATIONS ANNOUNCED TO BE CLOSED.
STARBUCKS ANNOUNCED THAT THEY WILL BE CLOSING 600 STORES NATIONWIDE, INCLUDING 88 IN CALIFORNIA ALONE. THIS COULD POTENTIALLY ELIMINATE 12,000 POSITIONS WITHIN THE COMPANY.
YOU CAN READ AN ARTICLE HERE, AS WELL AS DOWNLOAD THE COMPLETE STORE CLOSURE LIST.

RIP RIVAL X OLD SCHOOL RIVAL INTERVIEW ON GUERILLAONE.COM
by GuerillaOne on Jun.02, 2008, under GRAFFITI, PHOTOGRAPHY, REST IN PEACE, STREET ART
http://www.guerillaone.com/interviews_04_12_00/rival.htm
Interview: Rival WCA COD (edited)
Interview by: WiskOne
Q- What do you write?
Rival
Q- What crew(s) do you run with?
COD, West Coast Artists
Q- What year did you start?
Probably 83′
Q- Who was writing?
Alski, Czar, mostly gang shit…
Q- Who were you influenced by back then and how did you get involved with graffiti?
D-Rock moved out here from Brooklyn and I ended up going to Jr. High school with him, with him and Rak. It was when we were still doing gangster graffiti, and D-Rock his shit was fuckin’ bad, it was like damn what was up with that shit and I think it was RobOne (rip) that was taking pictures of shit they were doing out there. I was like man that’s bad, I had to get down with that.
Q-Who do you think the West Coast was influenced by?
Mostly about any fuckin’ writer that came out here from the east coast, Dante, Brisk, Key…just certain pictures being sent over. See we used to go to New York all the time, had friends and photographs would be sent back and forth. And plus L.A. writers would go out there and take pictures of the trains and just bite their fuckin’ asses off.
Q- What were some of your favorite places to paint in LA back then?
Pico and Sepulveda, Motor Yard, I liked Belmont. Our shit went up and got gone over the next fuckin day if not that night.
Q- Did West Coast (WCA) ever have to battle any crews?
I don’t think there was ever an official battle really. There might have been a battle between one member against another member. It kinda happened with K2S, I don’t know, I respect their shit, totally different influence. Two different fuckin styles, we were west side and they were east side. I think those dudes were more down than West Coast as far as graffiti with the exception of Wisk and Miner.
Q- Who started West Coast Artists?
Me, Pedro, PJay, Miner; I guess the crew was ISM, international spray masters.
Q- Did you bomb buses?
Yeah, mainly outsides; remember Wisk when you cut your fingers in the fan on the 217? Ha Ha Ha…I was mainly into piecing.
Q-What got you into piecing?
Mainly the art aspect; I liked watching people come up with new shit and the newest wild styles, whether it be letters, fill-in’s or 3d’s. I admired the shit out of Soon’s pieces. I used to like Green’s shit a lot and Dream, Sky and Relm. I never like Miner’s shit or Ryze’s. Ha Ha…just kidding.
Q- Did you have any rival’s back then?
Yeah anyone who wasn’t West Coast, but that one punk Ser, I got in it with him. If it wasn’t for Soon I would’ve stabbed him.
Q-Who was around then?
UCA, KSN, STN, K2S, KGB, I’m an old man with grey hair I can’t remember shit. My favorite shit is simples, silvers…
